I have a bit of end play in the power steering unit / pump
Gathering it will need a rebuild.
Can you shim it out?
Any recommendations in Sydney for a rebuild?

Sort of.
I spoke with my mechanic about it and he said it wasn’t enough to worry about.
Just saving some pennies and I’ll grab a new pump from Brickwerks

Where is the play? In the pump, or in the steering rack?

There is about 1mm(?) of endplay I’m the pulley.
Not leaking fluid or making noises.

That's interesting to have that much play in the pump. I've not had one apart before, but if there is that much movement internal to the gear pump, I would assume it's unlikely to generate enough flow and pressure to help with steering.
With a power steering setup, they have very heavy to steer when the pump is not working!
Would be good to have a dead pump to open up and have a look at!

Steering is perect feel.
Driven these for 20 years so I'm use to small changes in feel.
I'll chech what the movement really is.
Could be a lot less, but you do hear a "click - click"

Hope it's not like mine, I forgot to tighten the pulley and lost it not long into a trip away, I drove for a week with no power steering. Not much fun!
