Must have last posted on old forum.
So…….. my speed stopped working over Christmas break 2021.
It lasted at least the 10 years I owned it and probably since new, 1990.
It was replaced January 2022.
Anyway, it’s gone again.
Surprised me, as it just sits there twisting round and round.
Can’t see it being abused in any way.
Not like the g force surge from 1.4:1 rockers I added?
Crappy parts more likely?
Disappointed yes.

Not familiar with the T3 set-up.....
If it's driven by the square hole in the passenger side bearing hub (like a T2), could be that the hole has rounded out or the tiny circlip has flicked off....or both ?
Worth a look and easy to see.
Cheers,
Mark

Yeah - drive is the same.
But no - wheel and cable going around wheel end.
Nothing moving dash end.
Definitely a broken cable

Was the inner and outer replaced last time ?
If there's a burr inside the outer sheath and the inner (only) is replaced, could be the cause of the failure....
Strange that a cable would fail that quickly under normal circumstances.
Cheers,
Mark

yes - complete new cable inner and outer
I am unsure as to where the new break as as it was picked up when I dropped off for rego
I assumed that it was the cap / circlip issue, but mechanic reported back otherwise.
I am lazy so I asked him to fix

It is very easy to not follow the original path of the cable with various results from flickering needle to cable breakage.
Thanks Les
